Alleging that the ruling TRS party was violating the election code during the ongoing elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Rajya Sabha member and Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao has requested the State Election Commission to take stringent action against the violators immediately and also direct the concerned to remove all the hoardings and posters with immediate effect.
Hanumantha Rao addressed a letter to the State Election Commission in this regard on Monday. He said in his letter that the ruling TRS party erected thousands of big hoardings and publicity posters throughout the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and surrounding areas of GHMC in violation of Election Code. There is no space left in the areas of GHMC where ruling party not erected with hoardings and publicity posters. Even the pillars of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project are occupied with the posters of TRS party. They are also resorting to supply of two garbage baskets to each house hold despite Election Code.
