Karachi, April 17: Mohammad Asif’s lawyer has claimed the the Pakistani pacer’s preparation for the Twenty20 World Cup is being hampered by the stress he is enduring due to the financial dispute with ex-girlfriend Veena Malik.
“Yes there is no doubt Asif’s preparations for the World Cup have been affected by this problem and he is feeling the strain,” Advocate Kamran Sheikh said.
Sheikh also served defamation notices to Veena and two private television channels for making allegations of match-fixing against Asif.
“Both the channels carried interviews of Veena in which she claimed that Asif was involved in match-fixing that is why we have served these defamation notices,” he said.
The feud between Asif and Veena has taken an ugly turn with the actress filing a petition in the Lahore High Court claiming that Asif had committed fraud and cheated her out of Rs 13 million.
