Union Rural Development Minister, Chowdhary Birendra Singh will pay a visit to Telangana on April 19 and make a field visit to two districts to inspect Mission Bhagiratha works, Panchayat Raj and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao has said.
During a high level meeting with officials KTR said that the union minister is to take stock of Mission Bhagiratha scheme. Since this scheme is expected to launch during last week, Virendra Singh’s visit assumes significance. KTR said that he will show the union minister the works of drinking water program at Paler in Khammam district and in Medak district. By then the officials should make necessary arrangements by speeding up the works, KTR said. The state government is to apprise Singh of Mission Bhagiratha and urge him necessary funding. The minister also asked the officials to provide adequate works to workers under employment guarantee scheme in rural areas with all facilities like water and temporary shelter. The people should get timely supply of drinking water in the wake of Summer he said and added to make ample use of available resources under Rural water supply scheme and distribute pensions avoiding delay.
