United Nations, March 13: UN chief Ban Ki-moon today condemned the spate of deadly bombings in Pakistan, including suicide attacks that killed up to 45 people in Lahore.
“The secretary general condemns the series of attacks in Pakistan,” his spokesman Martin Nesirky said in a statement.
The UN “reiterates that no cause can justify such inhuman and indiscriminate acts of violence,” the statement added.
Five small explosions hit Lahore late Friday causing no casualties, hours after twin suicide attacks killed up to 45 people in the Pakistani cultural capital, Pakistani police said.
On Monday, a suicide car bomber destroyed security offices used to interrogate suspected militants in an upmarket Lahore neighbourhood, killing 15 people in an attack claimed by Pakistan’s mainstream Taliban faction.
