Dehra Dun, September 15: With the number of suspected swine flu cases rising in Uttarakhand, the government has decided to open more collection centres in the state, a health official today said here.
“Till now we are collecting throat swab samples of suspected swine flu patients at all the 13 district hospitals.
But we are now planning to open more collection centres in the wake of rising number of suspected cases,” Dr Pankaj Jain, state nodal officer for Swine flu in Uttarakhand, said.
The number of collection centres would be increased gradually and Rishikesh in Dehra Dun district and Kashipur in Udhamsingh Nagar district have been identified to open up such centres in first phase, he said.
Apart from collecting samples, these centres would also provide Tamiflu tablets and masks to the patients, Jain added.
