Chandigarh, November 26: The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) recovered Rs 65.72 crore from the non-paying consumers upto November 15 during the current financial year by launching a special recovery campaign.
Stating this, a UHBVN spokesman said power supply of 1,58,771 defaulters was disconnected temporarily or permanently under the campaign.
The Nigam snapped electricity supply of 43,803 non payers in operation circle Ambala comprising districts Ambala and Panchkula, 31,252 in operation circle Yamunanagar, 25,024 in Kurukshetra, 17,311 in Panipat, 11,919 in Kaithal, 11,205 in Jind, 6,577 in Karnal, 6,251 in Jhajjar, 4,760 in Sonepat and 669 in Rohtak.
The Nigam had constituted special checking teams to conduct cross checking of permanently disconnected consumer premises.
