New Delhi, Oct.20 : A Delhi court on Tuesday pronounced Uber cab rape case accused Shiv Kumar Yadav guilty of all charges. The arguments for the quantum of punishment will be heard on the October 23.
“Court has convicted him of all the charges for which he has been charged. Accused Shiv Kumar Yadav has been convicted under various sections like 366, 323,” Dharmendra Kumar Mishra, lawyer for the accused, told media here.
A Delhi Tis Hazari court pronounced the verdict this morning.
Last month, the victim had challenged a Delhi High Court ruling against the recall of witnesses in the case.
The Delhi Police has sought the dismissal of the high court order on grounds that it could lead to further harassment of the victim.
Taxi driver Shiv Kumar is on trial for the rape of a 27-year-old woman in an Uber cab on December5, 2014.
Accused Yadav was arrested on December 7, 2014 from Mathura and is currently in judicial custody.(ANI)
