Oprah Winfrey pays $45m for Weight Watchers` part ownership

Washington D.C., Oct. 20 : Oprah Winfrey has added another star to her resume as she is now the part owner of the international weight loss company Weight Watchers.

The 61-year-old media mogul now has her own seat on the company’s board of directors and is set to own 10 per cent of the company, purchasing 6.4 million shares for 45 million dollars, reports E! Online.

The diet franchise announced its new ownership on its Facebook page, saying in a statement, “We’re thrilled to share some big news today; Oprah Winfrey has joined our Board and is a part owner of Weight Watchers!” (ANI)
