Hyderabad. January 14: The 20-Point Programme chairman, Mr N. Tulasi Reddy, said here on Wednesday during a press meet that there was no threat to the Congress government in the state from former Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
He said that he was ready to contest from Kadapa or Pulivendula in the forthcoming byelections on the orders of the party. He ridiculed Jagan’s threat as that of a lame man who threatens others but is not able to do harm. He challenged dissidents to come forward to place a non-confidence motion against government.
Mr Tulasi Reddy alleged that YSR’s soul would mourn due to the acts of Mr Jagan against the Congress. He added that the government was implementing all welfare schemes of the YSR hence Jagan’s agitations against the Congress was unfair. He said that the high command would soon take disciplinary action against MLAs and MPs of the Congress who participated in Jala Deeksha with Jagan.
Mr Tulasi Reddy said that the Rachabanda programme will be started soon to know people’s problems. He opined that the state will get more water of 1,001 tmc ft with the verdict of the Krishna Tribunal from its earlier quota of 811 tmc ft, though government was going for an appeal against the tribunal verdict.
He opined that Telugu Ganga and other irrigation projects in the Rayalaseema region will benefit with the verdict. Earlier, he conducted a review meet on the implementation of the 20-point programme.
