Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TSGENCO), in line with its business strategy and expansion plans, has decided to replace the existing in-house software application by implementing centralized ERP solution across all its Plants and Corporate Office. The ERP initiative in TSGENCO has been christened as “TSSHAKTHI” (TSGENCO System to Harness Ample Knowledge Transformation for Harmony and Integration) as it promises to lead into a new era of information management in the organization. Accordingly, TSGENCO partnered with SAP India Pvt.,Ltd., for Implementation of SAP ERP across all the plants and corporate office. The TSGENCO Stations and H.Q have been using the SAP solutions since 01.08.2013. The Project has been commended by SAP to be the widest implementation (18 modules) done in the shortest time (10 months).
Key benefits achieved are: Uniform codification for identification of Materials, Services, Assets, Vendors and Employees and so on; Improved planning abilities; Seamless integration of all the functions of the organization; Availability and consolidation of real time data for better decision making: Strengthened data integrity and security; Flexibility to change business processes to meet the statutory requirements; Standardization of the processes across TSGENCO; Generation of timely and accurate MIS; Communication across all the Plants and Offices; Improved Asset Management System for better plant availability; Better inventory control through Supply Chain Management; Budget Control and Generation of Financial Reports.
Considering the above exemplary work, “TSGENCO – ERP Project –TSSHAKTHI- Implementation of SAP ERP in TSGENCO” has been adjudged amongst the “Top 100 Projects in India” for the year 2016. A jury of eminent experts and the award secretariat have selected this project from a large number of nominations and presentations, after comprehensive questioning and cross examination. The SKOCH Consulting Pvt Ltd., conferred “SKOCH Order-of- Merit” during the 45 th SKOCH summit on 8-9 Sept.2016 at HICC Complex, Hi Tech City, Hyderabad and commended TSGENCO and its team for the excellent job of making a persuasive case.
