Finance Minister Etela Rajender said that the state government has initiated steps to provide gas connection to all poor people after the formation of Telangana state.
Replying to a question by TRS Members Bodiga Shobha, Ajmeera Rekha and Kova Laxmi in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday, Etela said that the state government sanctioned 10 lakh new connections and steps have taken to sanction 10 lakh more new connections to the poor. He said that the implementation of Deepam scheme was not full-fledged though he personally launched it in all the districts. He said that the TRS government has sanctioned 8,51,501 Deepam connections so far and 3,61,716 families were benefited under Deepam scheme. (NSS)
