TS govt may cut spending on welfare schemes – Here’s the reason

Hyderabad: Government of Telangana may consider cutting expenditure on welfare schemes.

According to the news published in DC, State Government will relook its populist schemes in order to get more funds from the Center. The devolution of funds from the center from 1st April 2020 will be based on the recommendation of 15th Finance Commission.

It may be noted that the spending on populist schemes is one of the important criteria based on which commission would recommend fiscal incentives.

Every year State Government spends Rs. 40, 000 crore on welfare schemes. It is still introducing populist schemes almost every month.
