Health Minister Dr. Lakshma Reddy on Monday informed that the Telangana Government would bear total expenses of surgery of conjoined twins Vaani and Veena, who are housed at Niloufer Hospital.
Speaking to media persons here, the minister said that the doctors at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have been consulted and a team would soon visit Hyderabad to explore the possibilities of conducting a surgery to separate conjoined twins. He said that the twins have turned 12 and they have been staying at Niloufer Hospital for the last few years. He said that the Niloufer Hospital authorities written a letter to the State Government requesting it shift the twins to some other hospitals. He said that the request was under consideration. (INN)
