Telangana State BJP today submitted a memorandum along with drought report to Governor E S L Narasimhan apprising him of acute drought situation prevailing in the State.
A delegation of BJP leaders headed by its president Dr K Laxman called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan and submitted the memorandum along with a detailed report prepared by the party after visiting drought affected areas in the State. Dr Laxman told the Governor that the State was reeling under severe drought condition and labourers were migrating to other places for eking out livelihood. Besides, there were reports of death of cattle due to scarcity of fodder. They urged the Governor to direct the State government to take steps on war-footing to mitigate the crisis and launch relief works to helpĀ the affected population.
