Hyderabad: Denying its involvement in the cases against Congress leader A Revanth Reddy, TRS leadership today demanded that the Election Commission disqualify him from contesting the forthcoming elections citing disproportionate assets cases.
Addressing the media at TRS Legislature Party office along with Gattu Ramchandra Rao here today, TRS MP Balka Suman said the TRS leadership has urged the Election Commission to disqualify Revanth from contesting the elections for misguiding it on his assets. He sought to know as to why the Congress failed to respond to IT notices against Revanth Reddy on July 14. Now the elections process is on brisk pace, the Congress was trying to blame the ruling party, he fumed. Since Revanth Reddy is “anti-national” and misguided the EC with false information pertaining to his assets, the former should immediately disqualify him from contesting the elections, he added.
Suman also described Revanth Reddy as a Ganja plant in Telangana Tulsi garden. Such persons should not be allowed to contest the elections, he said hoping that the EC will prevent him from doing so. He also dubbed the Congress as a ‘thieves gang’ which was forging an unethical alliance with other parties as it cannot fight alone. The TRS will sweep the elections with thumping majority, Suman said.
MP Balka Suman denied allegations as baseless that the TRS was behind the IT Raids on Revanth Reddy’s houses and elsewhere. “There is no truth in the comments that the caretaker government was resorting to vendetta politics” he said. The TRS leadership has nothing to do with the IT Raids which was a routine one, he said and justified that Revanth has amassed wealth in hundreds of crores of rupees by illegal means. Launching a scathing attack on the Congress party for indulging in maligning the image of the TRS leaders, he said the former was not a competitor at all to the ruling party which will sweep elections and continue to serve people uninterruptedly.
