TRS stalls proceedings in AP Assembly over Telangana issue

Hyderabad, February 25: The Telangana issue paralysed the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for the sixth day today.

Proceedings of the House were adjourned twice this morning without transacting any business as the Telangana Rashtra Samiti members rushed into the Well of the House demanding creation of a separate state.

The TDP members from the region too were on their feet raising slogans on the issue, forcing Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar to adjourn the House for 15 minutes.

The TRS members, holding placards, once again stood in the Well when the House re-assembled more than 80 minutes after the break.

“I thought you would allow me some time (before protesting),”the Deputy Speaker quipped.

He postponed the listed questions for the day and adjourned the proceedings for half-an-hour as the TRS MLAs remained adamant.
