Traffic congestion at Begumpet; Officials visit spot

Advised by K.T. Rama Rao, Minister for IT, MA&UD and Industries to provide a solution for the increased traffic congestion on Begumpet road and at Rasoolpura junction in the wake of ongoing Metro rail works, HMRL MD NVS Reddy, GHMC Commissioner Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad M. Mahendar Reddy inspected Begumpet road today and the following instructions are given by these senior officers to the engineers of L&TMRHL, HMRL and other connected organisations:

 

They are: Temporary bypass road adjacent to the new HMRL corporate office building at Rasoolpura junction shall immediately be made operational by L&TMRHL engineers to facilitate better flow  of traffic going towards Secunderabad, Right turn towards Minister’s road at Rasoolpura junction will not be allowed during peak hours; Damaged manhole covers shall be rectified by GHMC and HMWSSB and the damaged road portion in the stretch between Paradise junction and Rasoolpura junction will be repaired by GHMC; Traffic channelisers on Minister road side of Rasoolpura junction will be improved to prevent interference of the traffic coming from Minister road with Begumpet road traffic, During peak hours L&TMRHL shall provide more Traffic Marshals; and Traffic Police officers and HMRL Police officials will supervise traffic movement, Traffic diversion boards and signages shall be erected by L&TMRHL at important points, L&TMRHL shall erect isolated barricades at select foundations, complete the works early and then erect barricades at new locations after shrinking barrication where the works are completed.

Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Jitender, MD (designate) L&TMRHL Sivanand Nimbargi,  Chief Engineer, GHMC  Md. Imtiaz Ahmed, Chief General Manager, HMWSSB, Rameshwar Rao, senior officers and engineers of HMRL, GHMC, Traffic Police and L&TMRHL were also present. (NSS)
