Condemning the efforts of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement Uniform Civil Code for the Muslims, TPCC Minority Department Chairman Mohammed Khaja Fakruddin has asked the Prime Minister to implement Sacchar Committee recommendations, restore Wakf Lands and provide 12 percent reservation to the Muslims if he really wanted to do something for the Muslims.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan along with TPCC leader Mohammed Afzaluddin and others, Fakruddin made it clear that it was not easy for the Prime Minister to change the Muslim Personal Law as it was practiced across the globe since thousands of years. He said that the Congress party will not keep quiet in case Modi tries to implement the Uniform Civil Code. He alleged that the Modi government was raking up Uniform Civil Code issue only to get benefited in the ensuing Uttar Pradesh elections.
Finding fault with the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for conducting fake surveys, Fakruddin alleged that the surveys were ‘Self Dabba program’. He also alleged that the BC Commission appointments were only to satisfy the TRS party leaders. “Nothing will happen with the BC Commission”, he said.
Fakruddin said that the TPCC Minority Department will celebrate India’s first Union Education Minister Moulana Abul Kalam Azad’s 128th birth anniversary on November 11 in a grand manner at Prakasham Hall by conducting essay, rangoli and anthyakshari competitions to the students from schools in Hyderabad city. He said that the prize distribution program to the winners will be held on November 11 at Prakasham Hall. (NSS)
