Visakhapatnam, October 15: In an unfortunate incident, three Intermediate students were believed to have been drowned while attempting to rescue one of their friends in Visakhapatnam on Thursday.
According to police, Jagadish, Prakash and Shivbarghav, residents of Akkaipalli in Visakhapatnam district in Bheemili Beach were swept away by the swirling seas and drowned after they entered the waters to rescue one of their friends R Jagadish.
The three had come to the beach on a holiday trip and were playing volleyball when Visweshwara was swept away.
The others Kiranprasad, Anand, Yoshodhakrishna, Visweshwara, Prakash, and Shivbarghav, all MPC Second Year Intermediate students of Guntur Vikas Junior college in Shankarmatam rushed to rescue their friend.
The fishermen managed to rescue the others while Jagadish, Prakash and Shivbarghav were missing.
Police reached the spot on getting information and are continuing on with the efforts to trace the missing students.
The parents and college management have been informed. A case has been registered as a missing case.
