Thieves strike at Secretariat again, computer with valuable data stolen

Hyderabad, August 03: Within a span of 25 days a second theft occurred in the Secretariat.

This time another computer from the Finance Department was stolen here on Sunday.

Despite high security around and main gates also well guarded including the D Block entrance, the burglars seem to have had a free run in carrying away another computer which had valuable data stored in it.

The police is said to have raised their hands and have doing nothing in the matter.

Officials were concerned over the incident as one computer preserved data in respect of Department Information and another computer preserved details of rules of Finance Department and list of staff against whom disciplinary action has to be initiated.

The police said that the cooperation from the staff was scarce in tracking down the culprits.

There was 24-hour security with 245 special staff, two companies of armed forces and 10 to 15 Law and Order surveillance cameras operational in the Secretariat. Still the thefts have not stopped.

Finance Department Section Officer Venkateshwarulu has filed the complaint to the Saifabad police station on Monday evening.(INN)
