Hyderabad: Whenever a friend or a family member visits you and takes food at your residence, be thankful to him as he is taking the food destined for him at your dining table.
Islam clearly says that a person takes the food which is destined for him.
A guest is a blessing for the host. Hence the host must be thankful to the guest for accepting the invitation to dine with him.
It may be mentioned that in good olden days, food used to be served on the floor and not on the dining table by spreading a red tablecloth on which a couplet in Urdu used to be written which says
“Sukr Khaliq ka Ada Kar Aamed-e-Mehman par
Rizk apna kha raha hai tere dastarkhan par”.
