Textile minister caught in camera while accepting bribe

Hyderabad, September 29: Minister for Handloom and Textile Dr. Shankar Rao who campaigned against corruption and had sent letters to high court and CBI demanding investigations, has been caught on camera by a television channel while accepting 10 lakh rupees from a corporator and promising ticket to him. The television channel aired the clipping.

Dr. Shankar Rao could not be reached by the media for his response but people have demanded his resignation. YSR Congress party leader Mr. J Prabhakar hoped that High court will take the matter itself.

Minister for Handlooms and textiles, Dr. Shankar Rao who has always been in headlines by making controversial remarks had sent a letter to high court demanding investigation into YSR Congress party chief Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s assets and CBI probe into irregularities of Emar properties accepting which High court had decided to undertake CBI investigations.

However according to sources Shankar Rao is said to have declared the video as morphed.
