TET results announced

Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy on Saturday released the results of Teachers Eligibility Test at Rajiv Vidya Mission Auditorium.

Talking to media persons, Parthasarathy said that 27,414 candidates cleared the examination out of 56,162 making a pass percentage of 49 in the paper-I of D Ed. In the paper-II of Science and Mathematics 1,05,239 candidates have passed out of 1,89,039 making a pass percentage of 56. In the paper-II of Social Studies 95,848 aspirants came out successfully out of 2,18,604 making a pass percentage of 44.

Following experts’ committee recommendations over the mistakes in the question paper, the Secondary education Minister said five marks have been added to paper-I of DEd, 8 marks to paper-II of Science and Maths and 5 marks added to paper-II of Social Studies paper. Contrary to reverification charge of Rs 500, he said that it would be done free of cost from this year.

Parthasarathy said that the TET qualified has to apply for DSC before July 13. He said that government was planning to conduct common entrance test in the place of TET and DSC. He also said that government would establish a special Board to conduct entrance tests in Education department. (INN)
