Tendulkar braves injury to play in IPL final

Mumbai, April 25: Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar braved a finger injury to play in the Indian Premier League final against Chennai Super Kings here Sunday.

Tendulkar was doubtful after he injured his right hand in the semifinals against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the wound had to be given five stitches.

The master batsman’s presence was important in the final as he has been inspirational on the field and has also scored 570 runs at an average of 47.50.

“I have decided to play. It is fantastic atmosphere. I am excited to be here. The moment has come and we hope we have a good day. The team has played well so far,” Tendulkar said.
