Hyderabad, June 11: The Telangana Telugu Desam Legislators Forum vowed to fight for a separate state till a Bill is introduced in the upcoming Parliament session. They also expressed their willingness to resign from their seats and fight unitedly under the Joint Action Committee banner.
The forum organised “Ranabheri” meeting at Tandur, the border town in Ranga Reddy district, 100 km from here on Friday evening. TRS activists tried to disturb the meeting all along the route and the downpour helped them to some extent. The TRS activists gathered at Moinabad, Chevella, Vikarabad and Tandur to stop the convoy of vehicles carrying TD leaders. At some places they hurled stones and rotten eggs, but police intervened and chased them away.
Several leaders, who spoke at the Tandur meeting, said the TD per se is not against formation of Telangana, but it is only against the mechanisations of the TRS and Congress who are bent on damaging the TD in the region by spreading rumours that it is against T. The TD Telangana forum convenor, Mr Errabelli Dayakara Rao, welcomed the TJAC resolution on Thursday which asked Congress and TD legislators to resign by June 25.
