Hyderabad, December 09: Notwithstanding the postponement of a major public meeting proposed by Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) at Warangal on Thursday, at least half-a-dozen organisations will go ahead with their own programmes to mark the completion of one year since Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram announced commencement of the process to form Telangana State.
The TRS women’s wing will pay tributes to the martyrs’ memorial opposite Assembly. The Telangana-based leaders of Telugu Desam will stage a dharna near the Gandhi statue within the Assembly premises. The Telangana Praja Front led by balladeer Gaddar will organise a meeting at NTR stadium.
Veteran freedom fighter Konda Laxman Bapuji will lead a demonstration by freedom fighters in New Delhi. The Telangana Congress Monitoring Group will organise a meeting in Khairatabad here to mark the occasion and the birthday of Sonia Gandhi.
