Telangana issue continues to rock Lok Sabha

Hyderabad, February 25: The Telangana issue continued to rock Parliament with the Lok Sabha being briefly adjourned on Thursday after members of the House created a ruckus on the issue. The Lok Sabha Speaker, Ms Meira Kumar, was forced to adjourn the House briefly during Question Hour. Demanding a clear-cut assurance from the government for carving out a separate Telangana, two members of the TRS, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and Ms Vijayashanti trooped to the Well of the House as soon as it assembled.

They were backed by the main Opposition BJP, which disrupted the Question Hour forcing the Chair to adjourn the proceedings till 11.15 am. Some BJP members stood up on their seats supporting the demand. In the Rajya Sabha too the demand for a discussion on Telangana issue came up. The BJP MP, Mr M. Venkaiah Naidu, demanded that the Chair take up the issue for discussion in the House.
