Hyderabad, December 13: The Telangana Graduates’ Forum has welcomed the Congress high command’s decision to initiate the process for formation of Telangana State and expressed the strong hope that it would be implemented as soon as possible to end the continued injustice being done to the people of the region.
Speaking to the media persons here on Sunday, Forum Chairman, Mr Thakur Hridaynath Singh thanked the AICC president Ms Sonia Gandhi, the prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and all other leaders whose favorable opinion paved the way for the historic decision.
Mr R.K Thomar, President, Bharatiya Federation for New states, said that they welcome the decision to initiate the process for formation of Telangana state. He said that they would be organizing a meeting on small states issue on January 14, 2010 at New Delhi, demanded that separate Telangana Bill be tabled in next Parliament session.
Mr T.Hridaynath Singh said that it is a fact that the merger (in 1956) was unnatural and against the wishes of the people of Telangana. However they tried their best to live peacefully with the Andhra brethren but the motivated political leaders and vested interests made it sure that the rights of the Telangana people are trampled in every sphere of life. Repeated pleas of the Telangana people went unheard.
They were forced to launch the movements for the separate state so
that they may enjoy their rights in governement service, trade,
business and education.
He said that the Central government realized the ground realities and took the decision which was long overdue. He said that the forum has always been in the vanguard whenever the movement for separate state was launched.
He appealed to the brothers of Andhra and Rayalaseema regions to express brotherly feelings when the right of the Telangana people has been given to them. He also appealed to the central government to take immediate action to implement the decision without any further loss of time.(NSS)
