Telangana CLC urges Centre to bifurcate High Court

Alleging there was a conspiracy behind the ‘option’ given to Andhra origin Judges, Telangana, Civil Liberties Committee (CLC)-Telangana has demanded that the Centre, Andhra Pradesh, High Court and Supreme Court react on suspension of Telangana Judges and do justice to the Telangana advocates and staff and solve their justified demands.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, CLC representatives Prof. Haragopal, Justice Chandra Kumar, Prof. Laxman, N Narayana Rao, V Raghunath, Dr. G Ravi, Narra Purushotham, Md Ismail, PM Raju, T Laxman and Belli Lingaiah, said the Central government has to divide the High Court immediately. They said the both Legislature and Courts have failed to protect justice in Telangana State and as part of it the Telangana government was continuing its suppression towards public movements.

The State government issued circulars asking the police to initiate action against the lawyers. On the other hand, the High Court imposed suspension on Telangana Judges Association president A Ravinder Reddy and secretary Vara Prasad along with other nine judges. The agitation was intensified with the suspensions and the State government’s attitude of suppression came to light with the act. It was clearly known that how weak democracy was in Telangana State with the ongoing Judges, Lawyers and judicial staff’s agitations against Judicial system, they alleged. They warned that the situation will become serious if the Centre, Andhra Pradesh, High Court and Supreme Court failed to render justice to the agitating Judges, lawyers and judicial staff. (NSS)
