HYDERABAD: The Civil Supplies Department of Telangana has launched a new program to avoid diversion of Public Distribution System (PDS) rice and other essential commodities by making use of new technology.
For this purpose, a command control centre was launched today to track vehicles carrying commodities and rice.
The centre was inaugurated by Telangana’s Minister of Finance, Etela Rajendra and C.V. Anand, IPS Civil Supplies Commissioner.
A video wall of a width of 210 inches has been set up at the Civil Supplies Bhavan in Hyderabad.
As a part of the project, nine MLS supply godowns in Hyderabad have been installed with CCTV cameras in order to improve surveillance over the stock.
Similar projects will soon be started in other districts of the state.
