SHE teams caught 11 persons, including three minors, while they were teasing women and creating nuisance.
In a pressnote here on Tuesday, Swati Lakra, IPS, Addl.Commissioner of Police, Crimes and SIT, Hyderabad City, said in Saidabad area, at a private college, two minors boys were caught while making rounds on bike by making noise and creating nuisance to the students coming to the college and causing inconvenience to the people moving on the road.
In Yusufguda area, at Krishnakant Park, seven students, who absented from college on the pretext that they were late and found teasing the people present there by whistles, passing comments and taking their photos. The SHE teams, Hyderabad City Police, who were on task near the hot spots, caught them with video evidence. Their parents were called and the students along with their parents were counselled, cases was booked and they were asked to come for attendance in order to monitor their movements. SHE teams received three different complaints of phone harassment from three women. One among them is an advocate, one is a private employee and the other is a college student. They complained that some unidentified persons were making calls to them at odd hours, sending abusive and vulgar messages and harassing them.
Based on the complaints, SHE teams investigated the cases, checked their call data particulars and found that the respondents belong to places outside Hyderabad. In the first case, the accused Pattapu Venkateswarlu, R/o Prathipadu, Guntur district was found to be staying at Penugonda of Anantapur district and making calls from there to the victim and harassing
her. The other was Kaki Veera Venkata Satyanarayana, S/o K Subba Rao, H.No-2- 23-1, Doramamidi, Buttaigudem, of West Godavari district. He was calling the victim at odd hours, talking in a vulgar language, sending abusive messages and harassing her. In the third case, the person was Anjaneyulu Thontapakala, H.No-12- 62, M M Puram, Pulla, West Godavari district. He was sending obscene pictures and messages to the victim and harassing her.
The persons were traced out along with their address particulars and all other details and the local police was informed for taking necessary action as per law, based on the complaints.
Swati Lakra said the victims need not suffer in silence. Any complaint of teasing or harassment can be shared with the police.
