Coming down heavily on TRS plenary meeting, Telangan TDP senior leader and polit bureau member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy today alleged that the ruling party instead of helping those who died due to sunstroke and farmers who committed suicide, has organized its plenary meeting neglecting the people’s problems.
Addressing a press conference at NTR trust Bhavan here, he said when all opposition parties have been accusing TRS government of failure in taking up drought relief works, the ruling party is claiming that there is no drought and kep itself busy in organizing plenary when state was reeling under severe drought .
He said TRS party has passed 14 resolution in its plenary without any discussion on it. The government has no time to even spent money given by the centre for drought relief work, he alleged.
Stating that the government does not have a plan to deal with drought situation and even chief minister failed to held a review meeting about the situation in the state, Ravula said.
On the claim of KCR to provide water to irrigate one crore acres, the TDP leader said water is being providing to 58 lakh acre from the projects which were built by earlier governments and with the completion of pending project there is possibility of providing water to 32 lakh acres. Now KCR has to say whether he will provide water to one crore acres with these 90 acres, he questioned.
Ravula demanded a white paper on providing irrigation water and government should explain whether the TRS government would provide water to additional one crore acre.(NSS)
