The TDP has requested Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to order investigation into a news report published in the Sakshi newspaper that some persons died due to shock on hearing that the YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was arrested by the CBI.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, party senior leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao has stated that on May 29 this year, Sakshi had published a news report stating that 50 persons had died on hearing that Jagan Mohan Reddy was arrested by the CBI. The report said that while two persons had committed suicide rest had died due to heart attacks. He has alleged that the Sakshi newspaper owned by Jaganmohan Reddy was taking advantage of the ignorance of innocent people and trying for political gain by publishing such false news.

He said that according to their information, no one died due to shock on hearing the news of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s arrest and the news published in Sakshi was bogus. Alleging that Sakshi was misleading the people with fabricating reports, Dadi said the general public had every right to know the facts. He requested the CM to order probe into the report and reveal the correct reasons for the deaths. He also enclosed a copy of the letter in which details of the deceased persons were given. (NSS)
