Taslimuddin resigns from RJD

Patna, August 28: In a jolt to RJD, its national vice-president Taslimuddin today resigned from the party charging its chief Lalu Prasad with treating the organisation as his “personal property”.

“I am resigning from the primary membership of the RJD and the party’s vice-presidentship,” Taslimuddin, also a former Union minister, said in a letter addressed to Prasad.

Stating that he had “sweet and sour experiences” during his long tenure in the party, the former Union minister alleged that RJD had been “virtually usurped by Lalu Prasad who treats it as nothing but a personal property”.

“Senior party leaders are not being consulted on important policy matters and the party is being treated as a mere tool to nurture personal interests of Lalu and his family,” he charged in the letter that was released to press.
