Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister T Srinivas Yadav today inspected the arrangements for the famous fish medicine program at Nampally Exhibition grounds. Chief Secretary SK Joshi, Bathina Harinath Goud and officials were present.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that 150 persons will be working in counters in three shifts for distribution of fish prasadam next month. Srinivas Yadav claimed that Telangana is the only state for distribution of fish prasadam free of cost in the world. ‘This time we are providing 30 per cent more fish to be distributed among people coming from several states. Last year about 2 lakh people got fish medicine and we have made arrangements as more people may turn up for the two day event on June 8 and 9, he said.
The minister also said that Bathina family is involved in offering fish medicine among the people for the past 173 years. Bathina Harinath Goud family has been involved and dedicated for 173 years for the pious event to help the asthma patients rid of the problem, he said. He instructed the departments to make coordination and ensure all facilities are in place. (NSS)
