Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is implementing welfare schemes, including housing facility for the poor, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Cinematography, T Srinivas Yadav today said.
The minister said KCR waived off about Rs 3,000 crore home loans obtained by the poor during the previous government and helped the poor to get Rs 150 crore benefit in the twin cities. He distributed possession certificates (ownership) of two bedroom houses to the 540 beneficiaries at his Sanathnagar Assembly constituency. The beneficiaries are from Bansilalpet, Bandamaisamma Nagar, Chacha Nehru Nagar, Srilanka Basti and Potti Sriramulu Nagar.
The State government was providing two bedroom housing facility to the poor keeping their long cherished dream, he said. He said the previous Congress government had failed to implement the housing scheme and denied giving adequate funds. However, the TRS Government waived off the loans of the poor and relieved them of the loan burden, he claimed. KCR was taking daring decisions, including Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak for the cause of the poor as part of transforming the State into Bangaru Telangana, he added. (NSS)
