Hyderabad, December 29:: The Telangana Muslim Front has expressed its solidarity to the on going Telangana Movement led by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of political parties, and support to the Telangana Bandh called for December 30.
An a Press conference here today, the Front President Mr. Iftekhar Ahmed said that the Muslim population which was more in Telangana region than other areas of the State, were very active in the movement from the beginning. He stated that Muslims became backward in the Unified State due to suppression of their rights. ‘Now the Muslims are most backward class on par with SC, STs in the Telangana region’, he said. He alleged that the Andhra leaders consciously neglected Muslims for their selfish ends. ‘The Telangana Movement belongs not only to the Muslims, but also the general public of entire region,’ he stressed.
‘The Andhra leaders have swallowed the Wakf properties worth crores of rupees in the region, he alleged. He has given a call to all the Muslim community people to engage actively with the movement, since their rights are related to the formation of the Telangana State. “Now is the time for the Muslim brothers of Telangana to safeguard their rights and uplift themselves from poverty, social, educational and political backwardness by actively participating in the separate Telangana state movement”, he declared.
‘We declare our support and participation in the movement organized by the Political Joint Action Committee and OU students,’ he re-iterated.
The Forum Vice President Mr. Abbul Mazeet and General Secretary Mr. Vass Pasha were also present at the press meet. (NSS)
