T-Mps Will Be Considered Anti-Nationals If They Boycott Moily Dinner: Venkatesh

Hyderabad, August 19: The Congress MLA from Rayalaseema, Mr T G Venkatesh, on Thursday said that the Telangana MPs, who do not attend the dinner meeting hosted by the Union minister and party State Affairs in-charge, Mr Veerappa Moily, to the State MPs would be considered as “anti-nationals”.

Speaking at the Media Point in the Secretariat, Mr Venkatesh said that Mr Verappa Moily has invited the State MPs for dinner where all issues pertaining to the State would come up.

Referring to the Telangana MPs contemplating to stay away from the dinner in protest against the terming of Telangana protagonists as “traitors” (anti-nationals) by the Seemandhra ministers before the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee on bifurcation, Mr Venkatesh found fault with the behaviour of the Telangana MPs over the dinner boycott proposal.

Not only the Telangana issue, but other issues regarding developmental activities would also come up for discussion at the dinner meeting. The Telangana MPs also have the responsibility to take part in the discussions, he opined. The developmental activities have come to a standstill in the State due to the unrest prevailing in the State for the past few months, he pointed out.

Mr Venkatesh also alleged that the provocative statements made by the Telangana leaders and the Srikrishna Committee members during their visit to Rayalaseema instigated the people to destroy the sluice plates of the Rajolibanda Diversion Scheme (RDS).

He also reminded that the Srikrishna Committee members visited the region along with some Telangana people. “However, I am not supporting the destruction of the RDS sluice plates as it was a wrong action. But the provocative statements were also equally responsible for the unpleasant incident”, he opined. (NSS)
