T Ministers to stay away from AP Formation Day

Hyderabad, October 30: Bureaucrats running the show has been the old saying though neither politicians nor bureaucrats admit it openly. During Assembly session, it is a common scene that while ministers are shuffling with papers and filling their replies with grunts, mumbles and other undefined gaps, the babulog dig into details and send a note with details.

No wonder, Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy told CBI that the technical details (of Obulapuram Minses) are known to babulog. She was Minister for Mines at that time.

Babulog with all the snobbery prefer to keep a low profile, there are exceptions in every field. So when the district collectors are asked to unveil the national flag to mark the Andhra Pradesh formation day on November one, it is not surprising as the TRS is bound to stall the proceedings and call the minister or MLA a black sheep, should anyone dare participate in the event.

It was Telugu Desam which introduced the practice of ministers unfurling the national flag on the Formation Day. This was because the new party had many new faces and it could be a good mass contact programme.

With the function being hosted by district collector, it becomes official and there are laws to govern the host. While TRS wants to observe the day as betrayal day the rupture is bound to happen, but in the case of collectors, government stands on a high legal pedestrian.

During the rail roko stir, agitators had a bitter experience when the law was enforced strictly and it remains to be seen how things unfold on November one. The irksome issue being majority of the elected representatives in Telangana region, cutting across party lines, are in favour of a separate state. In this backdrop, it is likely to be an official function as in the case of collector taking salute during Republic Day function. Here of course protests are likely to take place as TRS want it to observe as a betrayal day.

Any which way, babulog are again sought after by the politicians and the result is something to wait and see. (INN)
