Keeping its promise, the TRS Government here on Thursday issued orders giving Telangana Increment to TSRTC employees in the State from April 1.
According to the information, 57,800 employees of the TSRTC will benefit and the government would bear Rs 18 crore. It may be noted here that while Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced on November 29 Telangana increment to RTC employees for their contribution to the statehood movement, the National Mazdoor Union (NMU) pleaded with the government to implement the increment from June 2 last year. The employees unions of the APSRTC (undivided) warned of strike from May 6 demanding 43 per cent fitment on par with State employees. (NSS)
