Hyderabad, July 09: Telangana Congress leaders do not have a problem with Hyderabad being a common capital till a new capital is built for Seemandhra. “We have no objection if Hyderabad continues as the common capital for at least five years till a new capital city is built in Seemandhra,” a Telangana MP said. However, Seemandhra Congress leaders deny that their concern is just for Hyderabad. “We are totally opposing the bifurcation. We want the state to be united; there is no compromise on this,” said the law minister, Mr Erasu Pratap Reddy.
He, however, said Seemandhra leaders are not against consultations on the issue. He confirmed that important leaders from the region will go to Delhi on July 12-13 to confer with the central party leadership. They are disturbed at the way TD leaders who have resigned are garnering support in Telangana with their ‘Bus Yatra’ that began on Thursday. There is a feeling among T-Congress leaders that they too should go to the people and gauge the reaction to their resignations, but they are constrained by the fact that as the ruling party they cannot rock the boat too much.
