Hyderabad: Telugu Desam party today urged the Election Commission to take action against Telangana News Channel for airing news repeatedly belittling the image of its national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The news channel was repeatedly airing news alleging Chandrababu a Telangana traitor, the TD complained to the EC at Secretariat here.
A delegation of the TDP leaders comprising A Raju Naik, Gurumurty and Lakshminarayana met the CEO Rajat Kumar and filed a complaint against the T Channel. They sought the EC to initiate action against the channel owned by TRS Chief and Caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The T News channel aired similar news of maligning the image of Chandrababu Naidu on November 30 at 12 noon and on December 1 at 12.30 noon and 1.17 pm respectively.
Later, the TD leaders told media persons that the T Channel was violating the poll code by making personal allegations at Naidu and alleged that the TDP conducted fake surveys to step into Telangana in the name of the polls. The EC has assured us to seek clarification from them, they added.
