BJP MLAs would not participate in the Rajya Sabha elections in Telangana state.
A decision to this affect was taken after holding a meeting with party MLAs and appraised the same to central leadership. The party decided not to participate in the RS elections as it is maintaining equi-distance from ruling TRS and Congress party.
State BJP president Dr K Laxman, in a statement questioned ruckus created by TRS MPs in parliament and not allowing Loksabha when the TRS government is not allowing opposition members to even air their protests. He termed reservation demand of TRS party unconstitutional as courts have earlier rejected religion based reservations.
BJP, which has five MLAs and one MLC, is second political party to decide not to participate in RS elections. Earlier TDP also made similar announcement.(NSS)
