T activists damage YSR’s statues

Hyderabad, September 23: Tension prevailed in Buddaraopeta of Warangal district on Friday when some Telangana activists desecrated the statue of late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy​.

According to police, some Telangana activists damaged YSR’s statue in Buddaraopeta of Khanapur mandal and raised slogans calling him as an enemy of Telangana. It may be mentioned that the TDP MLAs became the target of T-activists across Warangal district on Friday. However, it was for the first time that the activists damaged YSR’s statue that was installed after his death about two years ago.

A similar incident was reported from Nalgonda on Friday. At Devarkonda crossroads, some Telangana activists set ablaze a bronze statue of Rajasekhara Reddy. Some activists poured petrol and set the statue on fire.

Police have registered cases and are investigating. (INN)
