New Delhi: The health of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who is suffering from pneumonia, is improving and she will be discharged soon, a senior doctor at the AIIMS said on Wednesday.
“Swaraj is recovering from Pneumonia. A team of specialists is monitoring her condition which is stable. She is showing signs of improvement,” the doctor said, adding “she is likely to be discharged in the next five-six days.” He said it is likely that she contracted the infection due to exposure to extreme temperatures while travelling.
64-year-old Swaraj is undergoing treatment at AIIMS’ Cardio-Neuro Centre. She was admitted to the hospital on April 25 with fever and chest congestion.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were among those who had met the Minister at the hospital.
