Hyderabad, January 22:: Sultan Bazar, Badichowdi, Kachiguda are part of the well-known old commercial market of Hyderabad, with century-old history.
These places have gained unique fame and prominence, with shopkeepers of different religions and communities doing business at one place.
The markets are famous for women’s clothes and silverware, toys, bangles and Vyamshalas. Even rare items not available anywhere can be found here. The vegetable market at the junction is also very good. Having a 4X4 shop here is a prestige matter. One has to reportedly pay goodwill advance running into several lakh of rupees to get shop space.
They also have a good textile market for business for economic buyers. The suburbs also houses many single-screen theatres like Maheswari, Parameshwari, Tarakarama, Venkataramana, Padmavati and Kumar. The suburb also has good restaurants and bakeries and many student hostels.
Kachiguda is one of the old suburbs.
The third biggest railway station in the city, built during the Nizam rule is located here.
