Hyderabad: Suitable compensation should be given to those displaced persons giving land for major irrigation projects in the state Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has said.
At a review meeting with officials here he directed the officials to offer financial assistance in cheques to enable the displaced, victims and evacuees to construct houses of their choice. KCR also said that top priority be given to those paving way for the project being completed averting submergence with design change. Despite steps there is submergence of some villages and people losing houses, cattle and other valuables. Keeping this in view the officials in coordination with ministers take steps for acquisition of lands and speedy disbursal of help he said. The Chief Minister also asked to expedite Palamur lift scheme and Kaleshwaram project works besides parallel completion of barrages, pump houses, and reservoirs he said and asked Irrigation Minister Harish Rao to resolve any issue and Etala Rajender to focus on projects in Karimnagar district.
