Stop Police Raids in Private Educational Institutions: Narayana

Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary Dr K Narayana has demanded the state government to stop police raids on the private educational institutions.

Narayana addressed a letter to the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in this regard hereĀ on Tuesday.

In his letter, Narayana said that the government, which was given permission to the private colleges, was now harassing in the name of raids through police alleging that the colleges were bogus, claiming bogus scholarships and bogus attendance. He said that the government has to control the irregularities through the education department only and not by using the police as these force used to control the anti-social elements.

It was not proper to the government to direct the CID, ACB, Intelligence and Warangal Police Commissionerate to submit a report by conducting raids on educational institutions, he said adding that the government itself introduced fees reimbursement scheme.

Expressing concern over raids, Narayana said that the education system will be polluted with the raids. It seems the government was more interested to take revenge than correcting the system, he opined. Stating that entering police into educational institutions was a bad tradition, he demanded the government to withdraw the memo issued on April 8, 2016 and create peaceful atmosphere in the educational institutions.
