Hyderabad, November 14: The Secondary Education Minister, Mr Manikhya Vara Prasada Rao, on Saturday felt that the State government was leading other States, which were striving to make the society diabetes-free.
Flagging of “Diabetic Walk” at Indira Park here on the occasion of World Diabetic Day, Mr Manikhya Vara Prasada Rao said that the number of diabetic patients in the State was at alarming level.
He also underlined the need to create awareness in the society about the dreaded disease. He said that the State government was taking all possible steps to extend free medical services to Diabetic patients and propagating precautionary measures to keep the disease at bay.
Citing Diabetic cases among the children too, the minister advised parents to take immediate care if they found any symptom of Diabetes in their wards. Leading a healthy life and timely precautionary measures would keep the people away from the disease, he added.
The Revenue Minister, Mr Dharmana Prasada Rao, pointed out that Diabetes tends to affect all the vital organs in the human body like kidney failure and other fatal diseases. The Diabetic patients should immediately consult doctors and check sugar levels from time to time, he added. The rally was organized by Dr Mohan Diabetic Center. (NSS)
