Mumbai, January 30: Shahrukh Khan’s assault on Farha Khan’s husband and the director’s remark that this could be due to some personal or professional crisis has set tongues wagging that the reason for the turmoil is his proximity to Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra. Speculation has been rife for some time now that all is not well in the Khan household due to the actor’s ‘friendship’ with Priyanka.
Lat week a website firstpost.com released pictures of the two which show Priyanka visiting SRK’s office in Mumbai’s Khar at about 11pm last week before the Zine Cine Awards and exiting through the lift in the building with him at roughly 3.15 am. Gauri reportedly snubbed Priyanka during rehearsals for the same when the latter tried to shake hands with her. The two were rumored to have been seeing each other during promotions for their film Don 2, and SRK’s wife Gauri Khan refused to let Priyanka into her house for the film’s party at their home.
Shahrukh reportedly assaulted Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder at the Agneepath success party in the wee hours of Monday. In reaction, Farha had said, “Shahrukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem and it means the person who is hitting has either a personal or professional crisis going on. It saddens me to see him doing the same.”
Baba Dewan had hosted the grand party for good friend Sanjay Dutt at Aurus, Juhu last night for which the entire industry including family and close friends turned up. Shah Rukh Khan dropped by in the wee hours, after hosting the Filmfare Awards show with Ranbir Kapoor. A heated exchange reportedly took place between Shah Rukh Khan and Shirish Kunder.
According to sources, SRK confronted Kunder about his Ra.One jibes on Twitter. A war of words followed, which suddenly turned to blows. Sanjay Dutt intervened and stopped SRK from beating Kunder even further.
When Ra.One was struggling at the box office after its release, Kunder had tweeted: “The super hero in Ra One has all the powers in the world, but to entertain.” Going a step further, Shirish called it a flop. The filmmaker wrote, “I just heard a 150 cr firework fizzle.”
He went on to compare the business of Ra.One with collection of Salman Khan’s blockbuster flick, Bodyguard on the first day. The filmmaker tweeted, “Bodyguard is trending. Everything else is pending.” Farah Khan directed Shah Rukh Khan in two of his home productions – Main Hoon Na (2004) and Om Shanti Om (2007), both of which turned out to be superhits. Shirish Kunder edited both the films. But their friendship reportedly fell through when SRK turned down Joker, Shirish’s new film.
